Meet Our Students:
Our program is just getting off the ground!
We are excited to announce that our first
exchange students will be coming to study in the US
during the 2008-2009 school year. Please check in
often to see updates on the students and to meet the new
candidates!
Minua
Minua is a 13-year old girl who is currently living at Hardt Haven
Children's Home in Kpando, Ghana. Her mother died of AIDS and there
is no known information on her father. She spent much of her childhood
selling wheat at market and caring for her younger sister Nancy. Minua
enjoys reading and "eats up" any story book she can get her hands on.
Minua was chosen for the program because she is a fast learner with good
grades and she has a hard-working demeanor. She looks forward to
flying in an airplane and promises to study hard while in the US
Justice
Justice is a 16-year-old boy living at Hardt Haven Children's Home in
Kpando, Ghana. His father has died of AIDS. His mother works hard to
provide for herself and her daughter who has lost one of her arms. Justice
loves school and is a big help around the orphanage. He is talented at
making things from whatever materials are available to him - such as
making a broom from palm branches or hammering out tin cans to form a
toy truck. He loves to dance and create rhythms on anything that will
work as a drum.

At that time I was also studying to write my final Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). My life was divided between my mother’s sickness and my learning. On the 3rd of April 2007 my mother died. I become sad and worried about my education,
